Circa 1860. This beautiful Victorian bracelet features seven portrait cameos carved from ash rock and bezel set within a 15KT gold frame. During the Victorian Era, those traveling on a Grand Tour of Europe were fascinated by Pompeii, and lava jewelry sold at the site made excellent souvenirs. Donning the lava jewelry back home identified the wearer as a world traveler and a purveyor of fine culture. The bracelet fits a 7-inch wrist.
