Garnet, the birthstone of January, is said to symbolize constancy and truth. A favorite among Victorians, garnets were commonplace on jewelry throughout the 19th century.
This exceptional pendant features a garnet and diamond studded star set against a hand pierced rose gold backdrop.
The pendant was originally an antique brooch (circa 1870-1900) transformed with the addition of a 14k gold bail.
It measures 1.2 inches from top to bottom by 0.8 inches wide. It is in great condition.
